# Enable Email

Configuration of the email functionality provided by the TC Router

Before being able to send emails via the node-tcrouter module, the TC Router must be pointed to your SMTP server of choice.  An example of this configuration is shown below using [mailtrap.io](https://mailtrap.io/), great for testing email functionality quickly with simple SMTP configuration options.
